Orlando is well known for family fun! But sometimes planning a vacation can be a bit overwhelming with where to stay, where to eat, and how to get there. That’s why I’m happy to be associated with Westgate Resorts in Florida. They make the whole process easy by offering spacious rooms, multiple on-site dining options, heated outdoor pools, and lots of fun amenities and activities to check out after you check in. Westgate Vacation Villas Resort and Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa even have an on-site water park for the family to enjoy during their stay! I was provided with a stay at Westgate Vacation Villas Resort and access to various amenities to facilitate this review.
Westgate Vacation Villas Resort and Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa
These two Westgate Resorts in Orlando have plenty of features that make them perfect for family fun. First, I will discuss their similarities and later I will discuss what sets them apart.
Spacious family accommodations in Orlando
Perfect accommodation for large (or small) families
With spacious rooms, these Westgate Resorts are perfect for family vacations and they have the perfect villa for your family size and needs. From a studio villa sleeping 4 with 493 square feet to a four bedroom presidential villa sleeping 12 with 2038 square feet. Both small and large families can have plenty of space and feel at home. It would also be the perfect place for a family meeting. These Orlando rooms have all the normal features you would expect of a quality hotel room, such as a desk, flat screen TV with cable, iron and ironing board, bathroom private bath complete with toiletries and hair dryer and Wi-Fi internet access. They also have some extras!
Separate shower and whirlpool
A fabulous hot tub will allow you to enjoy true relaxation in your room. Don’t forget your bath salts to enjoy this huge bathtub! Or if you do, you can always take advantage of the on-site market to get some bath bombs or whatever else you might need.
Kitchenette and dining room
Having a kitchenette is a really appealing feature for families. Not only does it offer great convenience, but it also has the potential to save you a lot of money when you choose to cook a few family meals and/or grab a snack! The equipped kitchenette varies according to the size of your villa, but they all have at least a mini fridge, microwave, sink, coffee/tea maker, cooking utensils, kitchen and cutlery. The dining space can be indoors or on the patio/balcony.
If you’re like me, you may have noticed that Westgate has two properties at the Kissimmee address. What is the difference between Westgate Vacation Villas Resort and Town Center Resort? They are sort of like a “two for one” package. In fact, I noticed some merchandise calling it “Westgate Vacation Villas & Town Center Resort.” They both have the same amenities and restaurants. The main difference is the type of accommodation. Downtown accommodations are more like hotel rooms in high-rise buildings, while vacation villas are more like townhouse-style accommodations.

Water parks and swimming pools
Westgate Vacation Villas Resort and Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa both feature a water park with a pirate ship, lazy river and water slides for guest enjoyment! Little kids will love the splash pool, older kids will love the waterslides and adult children will love the lazy river! This is a great fun feature for the family and means the water park can be enjoyed on your child’s schedule. Return to your hotel room for siesta time. Get out of the sun or bring back something you forgot. Everything is so easy and convenient. Really invaluable when you have kids!
Additionally, there are swimming pools scattered throughout each resort property. In addition to the water park, the Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa also has 7 heated outdoor swimming pools, 7 wading pools and 6 whirlpools. In addition to the water park, Westgate Vacation Villas Resort has 14 heated outdoor pools and hot tubs.
On-site dining options
There are plenty of dining options on-site, meaning you don’t have to worry about finding a good spot, driving there, and finding parking. Just stroll over it!

There’s plenty to do in the resort, so you don’t have to load up your car and deal with traffic. Relax and enjoy.

What is the best Westgate Resort in Orlando, Florida?
Well, if it’s a family trip, you can’t miss an Orlando resort with a water park, then Westgate Vacation Villas & Town Center Resort or Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa will do. made for you. Which one will depend on the location and which amenities are most important to you.
Difference in resort amenities
Obviously, if you want spa treatments, Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa will be very appealing to you. I had a massage while I was there and not only was it fabulous but it was a top notch facility with a free steam room and sauna available to guests. Or if you want to rent a pontoon boat, Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa is the right resort for you.
On the other hand, if you want to sit back and relax and watch free movies in the Disney movie theater, Westgate Vacation Villas & Town Center Resort may be right for you. Also, I really enjoyed the more sophisticated dining options at Westgate Vacation Villas & Town Center Resort. I ate at Villa Italiano Chophouse and Los Amigos Mexican Grill & Tequila Bar. You’ll like these more upscale options if you want to dress up a bit and enjoy a little night out in the town vibe.
Location difference
The other thing to consider when choosing the right Orlando Westgate Resort for you is its location. These Orlando hotels are both centrally located to your favorite Orlando theme parks and attractions and close to the airport.
How far is Westgate Resort from Orlando airport?
Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa is approximately 17 minutes or 21 km via FL-528 E.
Westgate Vacation Villas & Town Center Resort is approximately 26 minutes or 23.5 miles via FL-528 W/FL-528 Toll W and I-4 W.
