Portland Moxy Cocktail Contest | Yelp

October 2021 was all about cheering us up! To that end, Moxy Downtown Portland invited the Portland Yelp Elite Squad to try out some exciting new cocktail ideas and vote for their favorite.

When the elite entered the lobby, they were greeted at the front desk which doubles as a full-service bar with craft cocktails, wines by the glass, and local beers. The friendly staff was led by chef mixologist and bartender extraordinaire Daniel, aka The Dandy Bartender. As a Yelp Elite stratagem N said, “The person for this event was really the bartender. Super friendly and generous with their mix of cocktails.”

The drinks were: (1) the “She Bops”, champagne and chambord combined, (2) the “Blue Bayou”, a mix of whiskey and blueberries, and (3) the “Pucker Up Baby”, a lemonade with vodka with a spicy sauce kick.

Elites enjoyed their three samples in Moxy’s lobby, which features modern seating, a fireplace, board games and more. In case they got hungry, elites were invited to take advantage of happy hour fare (20% off) on food throughout the evening.

Once all the hookups were done, the food and drinks were enjoyed, and the votes were cast, the favorite cocktail ended up being the Blue Bayou! His homemade blueberry reduction was the perfect mix of sweet and tart for these Elites. But the real winner? All of us, for being able to enjoy this great Elite experience at Moxy Downtown Portland.

As if all that wasn’t enough, Moxy has invited two randomly chosen lucky elites back to enjoy a two night stay in the house plus a little food/drink credit! All rooms at the Moxy feature 55-inch flat-screen TVs, fold-down desks, Chromecast capabilities, Queen or King beds, and the same sleek design found throughout the hotel. Right on!
