Newcastle United Blog | Newcastle prepare offer for Championship Star – Report
[ad_1]
Newcastle moved quickly with an opening offer for main target Kieran Trippier. The 31-year-old is reportedly keen to come to Tyneside with Atletico manager Diego Simeone resigned to losing his star right-back if the player pushes for the move.
Trippier is part of the Atletico squad against Rayo Vallecano this afternoon. Newcastle fans will be keen to see if the England international is named in the starting XI for the 3:15 kick-off.
Trippier is not the only signing Newcastle are working on, although he is the most advanced and the only bid reported to date. The Mirror reported last night that Newcastle contacted Arsenal over a loan deal for exiled striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The 32-year-old is currently on international duty but could be available after testing Mikel Arteta’s patience early last month. That link seems remote at the moment and one wonders if Aubameyang would be a good fit for Newcastle.
The mirror Also report that Newcastle are preparing an offer for Blackburn striker Ben Brereton Diaz. In early December, a report revealed that Newcastle had spotted the 22-year-old.
According to the latest report, Newcastle are preparing a £ 20million offer for the rising league star. He filled the void at Ewood Park left by Adam Armstrong, who joined Southampton this summer, scoring an impressive 20 goals in 24 league appearances.
Brereton Diaz tied Alan Shearer’s scoring as the second Rover to score 20 goals before the start of the year. He received the following message from the Toon legend about accomplishing this feat.
Keep up the great work @benbreo ???????????????????????????????????????? https://t.co/4THQRnkwhx

Brereton Diaz qualifies for the Chilean national team thanks to his mother and made the switch earlier this year. He had previously represented England up to the U20 level. He started well with 3 goals in 9 caps for Chile.
His contract expires this summer, although Blackburn has the option of extending it for another year. They are desperate to tie up the aspiring superstar, but may need to take advantage of him sooner rather than later.
Callum Wilson’s calf injury has placed a higher priority on adding a forward this month. There is no shortage of targets with Andrea Belotti of Turin, Luke Jovic of Real Madrid, Gabriel Barbosa of Flamengo and Moussa Dembele of Lyon all linked in recent days.
This pending offer for Brereton Diaz may be a little premature depending on the evolution of other targets. Newcastle need a proven goalscorer in top-level football this month. While Brereton Diaz is on the rise, the move from the Championship to the Premier League is very difficult to do.
