A Preston Homelessness Program called on residents to donate to help those less fortunate on Christmas.

The Spiers in Maudland Bank Homelessness Prevention Program is appealing for donations, and those who have already contributed to Fox Street Homeless Hostel are invited to make further donations.

Community Gateway Association launched The Spiers in October. They urged families to have a thought for the people of Speyer while celebrating the holiday season.

The program offers secure tenancy for up to three years for those hoping to move back up the housing ladder.

In addition to safe and well-appointed apartments, the program includes spacious common and training rooms to enable Gateway colleagues and partner organizations to provide life skills training.

Training includes running a house, budgeting and cooking, helping with job searches, training, and accessing legal benefits or advice.
