“So let’s put aside the acts of darkness and put on the armor of light.” (Romans 13:12) These words are followed by warnings against behaviors that put people in the worst trouble. “On the contrary, put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to satisfy the desires of the sinful nature.” (Romans 13:14)
These words are further emphasized by the words of Ephesians 6: “Be at last strong in the Lord and in his almighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take a stand against the plans of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the celestial realms. Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the bad day comes, you can stand your ground and afterwards you have done everything to stand up. So stand firm, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet equipped with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take the Shield of Faith, with which you can extinguish all the fiery darts of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be vigilant and always continue to pray for all the saints. ”(Ephesians 6: 10-18)
The above words make it clear that evil was real at the time of the writing of the New Testament, as it is today. Prisons, prisons and many such facilities help protect society from the consequences of evil.
Matthew Henry has a great commentary on the Bible. On the biblical words quoted above, Matthew Henry has the following comment, “Spiritual strength and courage are very necessary for our spiritual warfare. We do not have sufficient strength on our own. All that is sufficient comes to us. of God.”
Modern media make the evils of the world around us ever more present, threatening and real. Whether among children and youth or adults, spiritual warfare is real.
