Best Friends Duo Launches Fitness Blog to Review and Rate New York Fitness Classes | Social superstars

Now they have a full time business which is one of the biggest fitness blogs in New York City. Sweatshirts & The City.
So how did they do it? When the two girls moved to town, a mutual friend joined them as roommates.
Sharing a mutual passion for fitness and feeling frustrated with some fitness apps, the two sought to start a blog that would share a rating system for different studios in town.
They both didn’t like standing around a gym, not knowing exactly where to start. They agreed that a structured class was much easier for them to stay engaged and not lose motivation or interest.
But, a lot of the apps they used to join classes didn’t have the information they wanted to see. Like – are there showers? Are there lockers? What is the size of the classes? Was it a good workout?
So they bonded and created the blog, Sweatshirts & The City, a play on words from the popular “Sex and the City” television series.
Now with over 58,000 subscribers on Instagram, their studio reviews – combined with their love of fashion – have become a culmination of “athleisure”, healthy eating and beauty products.
We were able to attend a class – Dance Floor Sculpt – with Dale and Liz firsthand, at PROJECT by Equinox. Natalie Reid and Sarah Grooms, from CityFitLife, requested high intensity, high energy dance training.
Liz and Dale’s goal is to share motivation and health and wellness advice for their followers. They say, “If everyone can become a little healthier and a happier version of themselves, Sweatshirts & The City did its job.
