The 4th of July is the perfect time to celebrate America’s independence and have fun in the summer. From fantastic fireworks to patriotic performances, there are plenty of fun things to do around Independence Day in the Binghamton area.
Catch a ball game
Baseball is America’s pastime, making it the perfect event to enjoy on the 4th of July. Watch the team take on the Portland Sea Dogsthen stick around for the park’s biggest fireworks display of the year: Bing, Bang, Boom!
Have fun in Highland Park
4th of July Show at Highland Park is one of the not-to-be-missed 4th of July events in Broome County. Enjoy parades, live music, rides, carnival games and more during the day, then top off the festivities with a spectacular fireworks display at night!
Party out of town
If you’re up for a short drive, there are big 4th of July events happening in nearby towns. Head to Montrose for their Craft Fair and ParadeWhere stop by Candor for their celebration with a carnival car show, fireworks and more!

Rock out at Tioga Downs
Want to support American veterans and have a good time? Head to Tioga Downs on Friday July 1 and watch a performance by Southern rock band Marshall Tucker. All sales will benefit the Southern Tier Veteran Support Group.
Explore the art scene
Binghamton is home to a vibrant arts community, and there’s no better way to experience it than the First Friday Art Walk. With 45 downtown locations, including a variety of galleries and studios, the Art Walk is a great way to kick off the weekend.
